Sharp criticism from Julian Nagelsmann’s advisor

Because of the way Julian Nagelsmann separated, his advisor Volker Struth criticized FC Bayern in clear words.

“I’ve never met the ‘how’ like this before,” said Struth, who is one of the most experienced agents in Germany, in the “Bild” podcast “Phrasen Mäher”.

The course of the separation from Nagelsmann at the end of March had caused a lot of discussion and had already given FC Bayern one or two critical voices.

Struth reported that he had just been to a Cologne restaurant and had wine, including with actor Jan-Josef Liefers. Then a journalist called him and said: “But that went quickly with Julian”.

The journalist also already knew that Thomas Tuchel was to succeed the 35-year-old in Munich.

“I didn’t know what he wanted from me,” Struth said.

Then more and more news would have reached him with a view to the coaching earthquake at Bayern. Nagelsmann was then contacted. “Julian didn’t know anything either and said along the lines of: Do you want to tease me,” said Stuth.

The consultant criticized that he only found out about Nagelsmann’s release from FC Bayern “24 hours later”.

FC Bayern: Bankruptcy at Bayer Leverkusen costs Julian Nagelsmann the job

Ultimately, a 2-1 defeat in the Bundesliga at Bayer Leverkusen cost the once highly praised trainer his job in Munich.

Struth said he wouldn’t have bet his fortune “that nothing would happen.” But he still thinks Bayern Munich’s decision against Nagelsmann is “wrong”.

He described his client as a “very, very good coach”. “I think he’ll prove that in the next 15, 20 years, when he starts again somewhere,” said Struth, who also represents Toni Kroos, among other things.
