After the second home defeat in a row, the Kölner Haie have lost touch with the top group in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
Four days after the 2:3 against the Straubing Tigers, the eight-time German champions lost 1:5 (0:2, 1:1, 0:2) against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg and slipped to eighth place in the table. The Lower Saxony climbed from ninth to fifth place.
Jean-Christophe Beaudin (10th), ex-Cologne player Lucas Dumont (14th), Ryan O’Connor (23rd), Andy Miele (47th) and Chris Wilkie (51st) scored the goals for the team in front of 15,476 spectators extremely efficient guests.
Gregor MacLeod scored for the Haie (25th). In the final third, Cologne’s frustration erupted in a fist fight between vice world champion Moritz Müller and Miele.
