Ukrainian Anatoly Shariy, whose party activity was suspended by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, announced a conflict with a group of Ukrainians near his home in Spain. In his Telegram channel, he posted a video in which activists accuse Shariy of “Russian propaganda”, and he demands that they provide evidence of this.
“I can’t go to Ukraine, but you can. Or is it easier to build heroes out of yourself at a safe distance from a warring country?” Shariy wrote in his Telegram channel.
Shariy, on his YouTube channel, has repeatedly accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of using a Russian special operation to fight political rivals.
Shariy left Ukraine in 2012 after a criminal case was opened against him. He left for the European Union, where he was granted political asylum. In 2015, he created his own party, which won several dozen seats in local authorities in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Zaporozhye, and Kherson regions.
In addition to the Party of Shariy, the activities of the Opposition Platform for Life, the Opposition Bloc, the Socialist Party of Ukraine and a number of other organizations have been suspended in Ukraine.
