Share solar panels scattered kilometers of burnt-out greenhouse complex

During last night’s fire in a greenhouse complex in Etten-Leur, parts of solar panels spread up to a kilometer from the source of the fire. They ended up in meadows, among other things.

This has been established by further investigation by the fire service measurement team. Earlier it was said that those particles were found in a radius of 500 meters around the complex.

The burnt-down part of the greenhouse complex on Bankenstraat is the storage shed. This warehouse contained a lot of combustible material and there were a total of one thousand solar panels on the roof. A third of these, three to four hundred pieces, were burned.

The after-extinguishing by the fire brigade took another half past six Tuesday morning. The fire brigade remains ready if the fire flares up. The Central and West Brabant Security Region does not rule out the possibility that it will burn again: “This is normal with this type of fire, because the heat cannot immediately escape under the high piles of the burned material and new fires can develop.”

The cause of the fire is unknown, no one was injured.
