Takeover rumors catapulted QIAGEN shares to the top of the DAX on Tuesday afternoon.
The shares of the diagnostics specialist and laboratory service provider recently rose by 4.4 percent to 41.28 euros via XETRA. Traders referred to speculation from “Betaville”. The financial website, under the tag “Uncooked Alert,” which relays market rumors, reported that a company was considering a bid for QIAGEN, working with advisers from Centreview and lenders such as Crédit Agricole. This is what people familiar with the matter said.
In January, Betaville Intelligence reported that QIAGEN was in a new round of takeover talks. Both the US tech company Thermo Fisher Scientific and the French diagnostics company bioMerieux are said to have held takeover talks./ck/jha/
