– I think there would be a lot of people who I don’t want at my funeral.
– I don’t want them because they probably wouldn’t come for the right reasons. They don’t really like me enough to come to my funeral.
Doherty believes that certain people would just like to clear their conscience by being present.
– They don’t want to look bad. I want my funeral to be a festival of love. I don’t want people to cry and think in their hearts that “thank God, mother-in-law is dead”.
However, the actor doesn’t name the people he doesn’t want at his funeral. The list would be “much too long”.

Doherty has said he wants to be cremated, but is not yet sure of his final resting place. She hopes a small portion of her ashes will go into a piece of jewelry that Cortazzo could later wear.

The actor’s father Thomas Doherty died in 2010. At that time, the woman also thought about her own funeral for the first time.
– I was pleasantly surprised who all showed up at my father’s funeral. Then I started thinking about who would come to my place.
Despite the spread of the cancer, Doherty is hopeful and believes that effective treatments can still be found.
– We have to fight for another three to five years, then there will be T-cell treatments or something else. Five years from now, there may be even more options. And after five years, there may still be new treatments and finally a cure, Doherty said in his podcast earlier.
