Handball Bundesliga club SG Flensburg-Handewitt has to do without Johan Hansen at the beginning of the season.
The Danish right winger has torn a muscle fiber in his right thigh, the club said. The injury happened during training.
Flensburg only signed the world champion and Olympic silver medalist from league rival TSV Hannover-Burgdorf this summer.
The Danish international will be absent from SG for several weeks. The North Germans start the new season on Thursday (7:05 p.m. / Sky) with a game at HSV Hamburg.
