Women’s handball champion SG BBM Bietigheim has won the Supercup for the fifth time.
The clear favorite and record winner defeated HSG Bensheim/Auerbach in the new edition of the DHB Cup final on Saturday 34:23 (15:14) and secured the first title of the season in Ludwigsburg for the fourth time in a row.
“We went full throttle for over 60 minutes, at first it didn’t look like such a clear victory,” said national player Xenia Smits at Eurosport.
Best thrower for Bietigheim – for now 74 games at national level without defeat – was Veronika Mala with seven goals. At the other end, former international captain Kim Naidzinavicius scored six goals for the Flames against her former club.
