«The objective of the day is to promote an open and taboo-free dialogue on sexuality, dispelling the erroneous cultural belief that associates old age with a decline in sexual life. It still persists deep-seated prejudice about sexuality in old age. With this event we want to reiterate that the Sexuality is an aspect of life that knows no age limits: it evolves, adapts to changes in tastes and needs, and can contribute significantly to the physical and emotional well-being and intimate bond of a couple”, explain Raffaela DI Pace, gynecologist and sexologist, and Manuela Peretti, founder of the blog @manupausa and together founders of the Konenki Association.

«During the event, we will explore the transformations of female and male sexuality over time, addressing the challenges that can limit sexual activity and underlining the importance of facing them with awareness», explain the experts.

There gynecologist and sexologist Raffaela Di Pace will explain how sexuality changes during menopauseLurologist Debora Marchiori will address the topic ofandropause and changes in male sexualityWhile Sabina Pelizzari, pelvic floor physiotherapist, will illustrate the correlation between the pelvic floor and sexual health, including practical advice for “training” pleasure. There psychologist and psychotherapist Alessandra Marazzani and the oversized model Valeria Sechi they will address the theme of accepting and enhancing the evolving body to fully enjoy sexuality.

During an interactive session, guests will have the opportunity to ask their questions, curiosities and doubts to the specialists present in the room.

To conclude the evening in a fun and ironic way there will be a show presented by Creadiva Human Attitude Lab together with the Cheproblemacé Theater Company. Creadiva, which has always been close to the world of women, brings to the stage female shows capable of describing women and their world through the medium of theatre, just as happens in this excerpt from the show “Women like us, love in the times of social media2”. An opportunity for women to meet and for men to immerse themselves in an often little-known reality.

Menopause is no longer the beginning of old age

«The lengthening of the average lifespan and the great improvement in people’s socio-economic conditions, at least in the richest countries, forces us to reconsider the concept of menopause and its repercussions on women’s lives.

If until not many years ago the Menopause was considered the onset of old age and women were therefore told that they had to accept everything that entails, today with a period of 30 years still to live and above all with a new role and a new well-being the women going through menopause rightly ask for answers to all the problems that this period entails”, explains Doctor Di Pace.

What is the Konenki OdV Association

Konenki is a project strongly supported by three women, each with their own personal experience related to menopause, who with a profound awareness of the potential and challenges that this moment can bring, have come together with the aim of promoting health and well-being of menopausal women to guarantee them a long healthy life. Raffaela Di Pace, Surgeon specialized in gynecology, PhD in Physiopathology of menopause, clinical sexologist, Manuela Peretti, Marketing & Communication Manager and Founder of the Manupausa project, Giovanna Bertazzolo, Digital & Social Media Strategist, Digital Marketing Consultant. Konenki is the name by which the menopause period is called in Japan.

There Menopause in Japan is a period of renewal, a phase in a woman’s life that brings with it new purpose and new growth. The objective of the Association is to promote an idea of ​​menopause as a positive moment for women by trying to support women in this phase of life which will characterize approximately a third of them, given that the average life expectancy has greatly increased, which today he is over 80 years old.
