SEW is paired with Bosnian HRK Grude in the second round of the EHF European Cup. The handball players of HV Volendam will play against Meran (Italy) or Dinamo Pancevo (Serbia) in the same round.
SEW has been warned, as HRK Grude has become champion and took the cup. The women of the West Frisian club finished third in the competition, meaning they will play in Europe. National champion VOC decided earlier not to participate because of the finances. SEW first plays a home game on September 23, after which the return in Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled a week later.
The SEW handball players will again participate in the North Holland Cup from August 14 to August 27. The other participants are VZV, VOC and HV Volendam. The new season starts on September 2 with an away match against DSVD.

With the men, Volendam is the only club that will play in Europe. National champion Lions waived participation. The cup winner only flows in the second round due to the high ranking. For Geert Hinskens’ team, there is first an away game on the program, before the return follows a week later in sports hall Opperdam.
Last season, Volendam also participated in the second European tournament. In the second round, the Volendammers then became eliminated by the Swiss Wacker Thun. In the run-up to the new season, Volendam will play in the supercup against Lions on August 26. Aalsmeer is the opponent in the first competition match of the Bene-League a week later.
