SEW has lost the first match in the third round of the EHF European Cup by a big margin. The handball players had to accept a big defeat against Hazena Kynzvart (31-24) in the Czech Republic. The return is next week.
In the opening phase of the match, it was mainly thanks to Isa op den Kelder and Lysanne Huele that SEW stayed on the trail of the Czechs. The score remained even until Kynzvart opened up at 10-7. They did not relinquish that three-point margin before halftime (13-10).
In the second half the margin was even expanded to seven (20-13). The home team’s dominance remained clearly visible, despite points from Lynn Holtman and Eline Veltrop. The final score was therefore expected (31-24). SEW will play the return in exactly one week in the Bloesem sports hall.
