Defeating the Italian team Roma on penalties in the UEFA Europa League final, Spain’s representative Sevilla won the 7th championship in the tournament.
Sevilla, under the management of Spanish coach Jose Luis Mendilibar, left the 7th final in the tournament, where it held the title of the most successful team, with the cup.
Sevilla, which had a happy ending in 2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020, passed the Rome barrier this year and reached the cup.

Roma, coached by Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, played in the final of the UEFA Europa League for the second time in its history after 1991.
Losing its first final to another Italian representative, Inter, Roma remained one step away from the cup, this time losing to Sevilla.

Jose Mourinho suffered his first defeat in the 6th final of UEFA organizations.
Mourinho, who previously won 5 finals, including 2 UEFA Europa League, 2 UEFA Champions League and a UEFA Europa Conference League, was blocked by Sevilla in the Europa League final this time.
Having won the UEFA Europa League with Porto in the 2002-2003 season and with Manchester United in the 2016-2017 season, Mourinho won the UEFA Champions League with Porto in the 2003-2004 season and with Inter in the 2009-2010 season.
The experienced coach won the UEFA European Conference League with Roma in the 2021-2022 season.
