Remained without a win in LaLiga
The negative trend at Sevilla FC has ended in the second coaching dismissal of the current season and the third of this calendar year. The Uruguayan Diego Alonso, who only took over in October from José Luis Mendilibar, who had been in office since March, has to leave the club after just 67 days in office (to the coaching history). That gave the table 16th. officially announced in LaLiga.
On Saturday, Sevilla clearly lost the home game against Getafe FC 0:3 (0:2). Overall, the traditional club has been waiting for a win for ten league games. Alonso won two of 14 games during his tenure, both in the Copa del Rey against lower-class teams.
Quique Sánchez Flores, who is currently without a club, is mentioned in the Spanish media as a possible successor. The 58-year-old has already coached four LaLiga clubs in his career, including Atlético Madrid. With the capital city club he won the Europa League and the UEFA Supercup in 2010.
