Sevilla has extended the contract of Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bono for a year. The 31-year-old international is now tied to the number 3 of the Spanish football competition until the summer of 2025. Bono played 99 games for Sevilla and kept ‘zero’ 50 times.
The Moroccan came to Sevilla on a rental basis from Girona in 2019. The Czech Tomás Vaclik was then the number 1 under the bar in La Liga, but Bono was allowed to play the European matches. The Moroccan won the Europa League that season with Sevilla. In the final, Internazionale was defeated 3-2, thanks to two goals from Luuk de Jong. Sevilla then took over Bono from Girona and he has been the regular goalkeeper of the Andalusian team ever since. The keeper scored a goal in stoppage time against Real Valladolid (1-1) last season.
Bono has qualified with Morocco for the World Cup in Qatar at the end of this year.
