Sevilla briefly reports Luuk de Jong’s departure, arrival to PSV seems complete

Lots of excitement on the Friday night. For a while it seemed that Luuk de Jong’s arrival at PSV was complete. Sevilla placed an announcement on the club’s website saying goodbye to the Dutch striker. It is generally known that the Eindhoven club would like to add De Jong to the selection and everything now points to that that will really happen.

NEWS UPDATE: PSV confirms medical examination Luuk de Jong, transfer almost complete

On Friday afternoon, general manager Marcel Brands said that movement had to be made from Seville if the two clubs were to reach an agreement. If there is no agreement within a week, PSV would switch to other candidates.

That does not seem necessary because Sevilla seems to be talking out of turn. For a short period there was a message online announcing the departure of Luuk de Jong. There was even a farewell video.

At PSV they say they find it ‘weird’. “We do not understand that they are putting this online,” it sounds from the Eindhoven club. It now seems that the striker will report in Eindhoven in the short term.

The arrival of Luuk de Jong is no longer a surprise. The club indicated several times that the striker was top priority. John de Jong (technical director), Ruud van Nistelrooij (trainer) and today Marcel Brands (general director) did this.
