The KNMI announced code yellow for Limburg on Friday afternoon due to strong thunderstorms.
On Friday morning, code yellow also applied in our province due to fog banks with local visibility to less than 200 meters.
Severe thunderstorms
Code yellow applies Friday afternoon from 12:00 to 17:00. The weather warning is therefore in effect in North Brabant and Gelderland. Meteo Limburg expects strong thunderstorms to pass over our province with a chance of hail and local wind gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
“I expect the most rain south of Roermond and around Vaals and the most wind gusts of more than 100 kilometers per hour in the extreme southeast. But there is still the necessary uncertainty,” says Thijs Zeelen of Meteo Limburg. The showers can cause flooding, especially in South Limburg. The maximum temperature in our province is 24 to 25 degrees.

Nuisance
On Thursday afternoon, severe weather also passed over Limburg. The fire brigades received dozens of calls after the rain and thunderstorms. The stormy weather caused nuisance on Thursday, especially in the north of the province.
