The Omicron strain may not be so dangerous for pregnant women, but there are a lot of serious complications after the disease. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko in an interview with Naila Asker-zade on the channel “Russia 24”.
According to him, there is a risk for newborns, so vaccination after pregnancy and childbirth is necessary. The Minister stressed that preventive measures will not give the opportunity to become seriously ill.
The head of the Ministry of Health explained that treatment protocols have changed with Omicron coronavirus infection.
“A number of drugs are less effective in Omikron, they are excluded from the treatment protocols. There are those that have shown their high efficiency in Omikron.”
Earlier, the agency approved an updated version of the fifteenth interim guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.
