Pro-Palestine agitators are also demonstrating around Hermannplatz in Neukölln on Wednesday evening. And this despite the fact that the demonstrations were banned by the police.

The officers were at Hermannplatz with almost 30 emergency vehicles. Shouts of “Free Palestine” could be heard again and again from the groups. The police kept arresting people. At around 7 p.m. several men attacked police officers and were temporarily arrested. Some of the men kicked police officers. It is not yet known whether officers at the scene were injured.

Shortly before 8 p.m. the situation calmed down and the police surrounded a group of around 20 demonstrators.

The police had already banned several pro-Palestinian demonstrations on Wednesday due to concerns about acts of violence and glorification of violence. Around 250 people wanted to march from Richardplatz in Neukölln to Kottbusser Tor in Kreuzberg under the title “Demo in Solidarity with Palestine”.
