Die Toten Hosen are celebrating their 40th anniversary and are releasing a total of 43 titles, including “Everything out of love: 40 years of Die Toten Hosen”. In addition to classics from the past 40 years, these also include seven new titles that were recorded for the anniversary of the five musicians.
New material is a matter of honor
Founded in 1982 in the old town of Düsseldorf, the German punk rock band has now, 40 years later, released seventeen studio albums. The musicians around frontman Campino chose a total of 36 songs from these seventeen, which they will present to us on vinyl, on CD and digitally from the end of May. For the band it is a matter of honor that new material can also be found on the record.
Also new recordings and remixes await us on the album
“And while we were in the studio, we allowed ourselves the luxury of revising or updating a few numbers that were close to our hearts for a wide variety of reasons,” says Toten Hosen, according to the press release about the creation process of the work . The band’s anniversary album offers, among other things, three remixes of the songs “Alles aus Liebe”, “Wünsch dir was” and “Never of an opinion” from 1993, as well as a new recording of the 2015 title “Welcome to Germany”.
The exhibition will be published on May 27th. The vinyl edition comes as a box set with four LPs and is limited to 15,000 copies. The box comes with a 24-page booklet and a signed band photo. The album will also be available as a double CD digipack and also digitally.
In addition, the Toten Hosen embark on a big tour with eighteen stops in Germany and Austria in the summer. But that’s not all: On 25.03. a new single by Hosen will be released, which is embedded in a joint project with rapper Marteria, and the five can also be heard on Merchcowboy’s charity mixtape.
