Thanks to a spectacular final offensive, Liverpool FC kept pace in the race for the English football championship and avoided their first home defeat.
With two goals shortly before the final whistle, team manager Jürgen Klopp’s team defeated FC Fulham with goalkeeper Bernd Leno 4:3 (2:2).
This means that the Reds remain on the heels of league leaders FC Arsenal, and the gap is still two points. The Londoners scored 2-1 (2-0) against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. Triple winners Manchester City meet Tottenham Hotspur in the early evening (5:30 p.m./Sky).
Leno, after a collision in the early stages and minutes of treatment with a head bandage and a black eye, conceded three dream goals at Anfield: First Trent Alexander-Arnold curled a free kick onto the underside of the crossbar (20th), then world champion Alexis Mac struck Allister also hit the ball into the corner from 25 meters (39′), and Wataru Endo scored almost exactly the same way (87′).
