Setback for Alec Baldwin in ‘Rust’ lawsuit: actor may indeed be prosecuted | Celebrities

Script supervisor Mamie Mitchell sued Alec Baldwin for negligence, among other things. Lawyers for the American actor filed an application in November 2021 to remove Baldwin’s name from the entire lawsuit. On Tuesday, more than a year after the fatal incident, it was announced that a judge had denied the request. If Mitchell is ultimately right, things don’t look good for the American actor. Chances are that Baldwin will have to pay a punitive damage claim (an additional compensation).

The legal team of the script manager is already satisfied with the judge’s ruling. Gloria Allred, one of Mitchell’s attorneys in the case, released the following statement. “We are very pleased that we won, and that the court has cleared us to continue to prosecute Alec Baldwin for, among other things, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.” She continues: “In addition, following Mr Baldwin’s objection, the court allowed us to seek damages.”
