Serral triumphs in ESL Starcraft 2 Masters Summer

After a 90-minute battle in the finals, he held up the next trophy in his collection: Joona “Serral” Sotala won the international summer edition of the ESL Starcraft 2 Masters.

“It’s an absolutely fantastic feeling,” said Serral in a calm voice and the trophy in his hands in the winner’s interview. “It went really well at the beginning, but GuMiho fought really well. I didn’t expect it to be that close,” he continued.

It was a dominant tournament from Serral. Overall, the Finn gave away only three maps at the final event in Jönköping, Sweden, two of them in the final against South Korean Koh “GuMiho” Byung-jae (4-2).

Julian “Lambo” Brosig made it into the top 12. In the fourth round of the Upper Bracket, the German lost to South Korean Park “Dark” Ryung-woo (0-3).

“I did my best but Dark was a bit too good for me today,” Lambo wrote on his Twitter channel after the tournament. “Overall, I felt very comfortable in the Lan environment and played well in most games,” he said, summing up his tournament.
