Seriously injured Purmerend shooting victim is a 19-year-old man from Medemblik

The police are still looking for one or more suspects following the shooting at the Purmerend train station last night. A 19-year-old man from the same town was killed. The other victim, a 19-year-old man from Medemblik, is still seriously injured in the hospital. Police are calling on witnesses to come forward.

The shooting happened yesterday evening a little after eight. The victim was resuscitated at the scene of the shooting, but was later taken to hospital for his injuries dead. At the same time, a major search operation was started with a specialized police team, sniffer dogs and a helicopter. Nevertheless, the suspect has not yet been found and, according to the police, no clear description is currently available.

The police are calling on witnesses to come forward and are specifically asking about dashcams or doorbell cameras near Stationsweg in Purmerend. “If you know who is involved in the incident, we would like to hear from you.
