Two men from Groesbeek are being prosecuted by the Public Prosecution Service because they participated in an illegal street race in Beugen in January last year. It ended in a collision with another car. Two people were seriously injured, including a pregnant woman. The men are suspected of causing grievous bodily harm. It is not yet clear when they will appear in court.
The accident happened on Monday evening, January 26, 2022 on the Romans Street. The road is in a business park. In a video from the accident at Dumpert you can see how big the blow was.
The driver of the car that had nothing to do with the race was pregnant at the time. She suffered a broken femur and had to be freed from the car. One of the suspects was also injured. According to De Gelderlander, he had a broken knee and a severe concussion.
