In a traffic accident near Hennigsdorf (Oberhavel), six people were injured, some seriously.

According to initial findings by the police, a car tried to overtake a column of five vehicles shortly after leaving the town towards Autobahn 111 on Sunday.

Because of the overtaking manoeuvre, oncoming vehicles had to brake to avoid a head-on collision.

A 46-year-old drove into the car of a 38-year-old driving in front of him, the police said on Monday. In the two cars involved, four people were seriously injured and two slightly injured, including two children aged five and nine.

The cause of the accident, who drove on, is currently being determined, according to the police.
