Serious security hole in Apple phones and computers – Check if your device is on the list

Corrective updates should be installed immediately.

There have been two zero-day vulnerabilities circulating on Apple devices, these have been fixed in the new updates. The vulnerability has been detected in Apple computers, mobile phones, iPads and iPod touch. There is also a vulnerability in Apple’s Safari browser.

In zero-day vulnerabilities, it has been possible to execute malicious software code on the device that did not require user approval. In an attack, cybercriminals can remotely access the device without logging in.

The vulnerability is fixed with an update

Operating systems and software older than the following Apple operating systems should be updated as soon as possible.

  • iOS 16.4.1 (iPhone 8 and later)
  • iOS 15.7.5 (iPhone 8 older devices, as well as 7th generation Ipod Touch)
  • IpadOS 15.7.5 (including all Ipad Pros)
  • macOS Monterey 12.6.5
  • macOS Big Sur 11.7.6
  • macOS Ventura 13.3.1
  • Safari 16.4.1

You can check for updates in the settings of the Apple device as follows: Settings -> General -> Software update.
