Stowe Bleeker (56) has lived in his rental home in Haarlem’s Leidsebuurt for more than thirty years. He is no stranger to a little leakage in the old school building where he lives, but the fact that he has had to sleep on a mattress in his living room for a year due to serious leakage is really going too far for him. Out of desperation, he has now shared videos of the leaking water on social media.
Landlord housing association Ymere said in a response that it was aware of the leak. According to the landlord, this involves multiple leaks and a structurally complex building.
Ymere emphasizes that they want to solve the problems “properly and hopefully forever”. “That is why it has been agreed with this resident that we will provide a number of hotel nights. Our co-maker will then visit the home again to ensure that the leaks are finally resolved, so that the gentleman can then return home.”
