Serious accident A50: Udenaar arrested, was probably drunk

A 52-year-old motorist from Uden has been arrested in connection with a serious accident that happened on Thursday evening on the A50 near Heteren. Police believe he was drunk behind the wheel. The man also does not have a valid driver’s license.

In addition to the Udenaar, who is said to have caused the collision, two other people were injured in the accident. They had to be freed from their car by the fire brigade, reports The Gelderlander. That car had flipped over. The two were trapped in their car.

The 52-year-old motorist from Uden was also taken to a hospital. The man refused to cooperate with a breath analysis. He also declined to cooperate in the investigation into how the accident could have happened.

The accident on the A50 happened around eight o’clock on Thursday evening, just before the exit Heteren on the southbound carriageway. Due to the seriousness of the situation, an air ambulance was called. It landed on the A50. The road was closed until 11 p.m. Thursday evening.
