A nocturnal chase on a Bavarian Alpine autobahn ends in a pile-up. Cars roll over, a gang of gangsters shoots out with the police, a burning tanker truck falls, a motorway bridge collapses: welcome to “Drift”! Before the series “Dark” woke TV Germany up from its slumber, nobody could have imagined that Germany could also do genres. In the meantime, we are also believed to be capable of mystery or science fiction, but when it comes to action, Germany is still a developing country.

However, Sky’s own production “Drift” now proves that there is a world beyond “Alarm for Cobra 11”. At least if you don’t mind that set pieces known from US cinema in particular are copied. The series is a spectacularly staged ten-part buddy movie full of car chases, which tells of how two very different police officer brothers (Ken Duken, Fabian Busch) take on an international conspiracy in which the investigative authorities are also involved.
