Serie B: Palermo, SudTirol and Modena win, Parma-Reggiana 0-0

Nimble successes for the Rosanero (3-0 against Feralpisalò) and the Tyroleans (3-1 comeback against Ascoli). The Emilians beat Pisa 2-0 with the Tuscans for a long time in 10 men and score their third victory in three days. No goals in the derby

Modena slips the third victory out of three games played in this start of the championship. The Gialloblù beat Pisa thanks to Tremolada and Strizzolo: now they sit in second place behind Parma, who however played one game more. Pecchia’s team is no longer with full points: in fact at the Tardini a courageous Reggiana takes away the 0-0 in the derby, and it is the second point in the standings for mister Nesta. Sudtirol plays a double-sided match against Ascoli: first half to be cancelled, resumed the assault with spot-on substitutions by Bisoli. From 0-1 to 3-1 in Alto Adige and the points in the standings become 7. Palermo also scored three goals against Feralpisalò. The rosanero open with Insigne, continue with Stulac and close with Di Francesco, finding the second consecutive victory after the blitz at Reggiana. Even for Corini the points in the standings are 7, hand in hand with the South Tyroleans, Venice and Catanzaro. Tomorrow the fourth day ends with the debut of Brescia against Cosenza at 16.15, the four matches at 18.30 (Cremonese-Sampdoria, Spezia-Como, Ternana-Bari and the debut of Lecco against Catanzaro) and finally the postponed Cittadella- Venice at 20.45.

Modena 2-0 Pisa

Ready-go and Tremolada already hits the mark: surgical counter-attack by the hosts with Palumbo recovering a vital ball in midfield, Manconi sets up in the center of the area for Tremolada who only has to deposit in the net. Tuscan response entrusted to the noble left-handed by Miguel Veloso who in the 25th minute called Gagno to reflex, a defused free kick. Var episode in the half hour, the one that definitively changes the face of the match: Guiebre runs away at speed and shows up one meter from the Pisa area, Hermannsson knocks him out and Baroni, after the initial yellow card, opts for red light after consulting the monitors. Nicolas avoided doubling before the break by defusing Tremolada’s free-kick. Aquilani overturns his team at the break with two substitutions, asks for balance behind and goes in search of an episode forward: Pisa tries to unbalance but only shows up with an inaccurate header by Canestrelli (74′), while the Emilians control without worries. Indeed, they even doubled their lead in the 94th minute with Gerli’s slalom who breaks through to the left and gives Strizzolo an assist for a comfortable tap-in. Modena remains the only team with full points in the whole B.

Palermo-Feralpisalò 3-0

The rosaneros are better at the start. In the 11th minute Di Mariano fabulously verticalizes for Brunori with a 50-metre throw, the bomber accelerates and tries to strike Pizzignacco with lightning, but sends wide. In the 16th minute Stulac cues Henderson between the lines, a comfortable service for Insigne who draws the perfect parable at the far post with his left foot. And Palermo goes on. The guests show no signs of life, for the rosanero there would also be an opportunity to double in the 40th minute with Stulac’s swing, the ball just wide. However, the Slovenian has the opportunity to make up for it less than a minute after the restart of the game, when he signs the 2-0 taking advantage of a surgical serve by Segre on the counterattack. Awakening of Feralpi in the 50th minute, when Pigliacelli goes empty on a free-kick, La Mantia keeps it alive for Ceppitelli who only has to deposit on goal, but doesn’t frame. Sigh of relief for the rosanero who, as the minutes go by, put themselves on automatic pilot: Ceccaroni and Brunori go in search of personal joy, but the substitute Di Francesco (on his debut) hits the target, who opens the triangle on the counterattack with Soleri and then puts in the 3-0. Curtain and applause for Palermo.

parma-reggiana 0-0

The first note in the news is the interruption of the game due to the launch of smoke bombs on the field by the segment reserved for the guests, who had already protested in the pre-race for the low number of tickets made available for Reggio cheering: a scene that repeats on another couple of occasions during the ninety minutes and is the cause of the two long recoveries. Parma governs with more attitude, but builds only one chance in the first half hour: Osorio heads in with a sure shot, Pettinari replaces Bardi and saves on the line. Another ring in the 44th minute with Mihaila whose right foot doesn’t see the mirror though. The second half gives each side an opportunity: first Pettinari could sting in the restart, but sees his right-footed shot smash into Osorio’s back (55′), then the substitute Partipilo turns on a light bulb in Parma’s attack, promptly turned off by Bardi who dives against his lap attempt. Convulsive final: the Gialloblù raise their engine revs in search of the fourth victory in as many matches, but Reggiana almost hit the jackpot and in the 88th minute sent an unassuming cross on which Chichizola came out late, leaving the goal unguarded for Varela who does not coordinate effectively for serving at the net.

sudtirol-ascoli 3-1

It takes off slowly at Druso: there is room for a solution from outside attempted by Mendes, large. In the middle of the fraction the guests accelerate: Caligara goes directly to goal with his left foot from a free kick, Poluzzi has to relax for a corner. As for the continuation of the action, it’s up to Falzerano to charge the conclusion, another dirty job for the home number one. The players from the Marches deserve more points, who unlock it right at the end of the fraction: thanks to Pedro Mendes who receives the ball from the edge and puts Poluzzi’s right corner in his sights, without giving him a chance. Bisoli changes two at the interval and the effects are seen immediately: in the 53rd minute substitute Merkaj puts Casiraghi’s great tracer into an empty net, 1-1. Ascoli leaves the match, the hosts take advantage of it again: ten minutes after the draw, Casiraghi’s overtaking arrives (very credible candidate for the mvp palm) who calibrates a cross to return on which teammates and opponents are surprised. Tait doesn’t intervene, neither does Viviano: 2-1. There is only Sudtirol on the pitch: in the 82nd minute Merkaj is uncontainable on the left after a visitor defensive error, Botteghin puts him down and it’s a penalty for the South Tyroleans. From the penalty spot Casiraghi closes the accounts.
