Serie B, Lecce back in the lead, Monza, Pisa and Frosinone defeated

The Salento win the big match thanks to a penalty (two goals canceled). Reggina and Cittadella also win, Ascoli overturns Crotone

At Lecce the big match of the day, away victory against Monza and first place in the standings shared with Cremonese. Ascoli, on the other hand, leaps into the playoff area thanks to the comeback against Crotone in the final minutes. Successes for Reggina and Cittadella. Here’s what happened this Sunday in Serie B.

MONZA-LECCE 0-1

Record-breaking shot. Lecce, under the eyes of Galliani and Berlusconi, wins in Monza and leaps to the top of the standings together with Cremonese (49 points). Brescia at -1, Benevento and Pisa at -3. Coda decides a penalty kick (55 ‘). Helgason flies away, Paletta knocks him out. For the referee Duties there is no doubt: penalty. And Coda scores his 14th goal of the season, his 95th in Serie B. Dragger. In the first half the protagonist is Listkowski: first he hits a post after 7 ‘, then scores after a good move, but the referee – after consulting Var – cancels for a dangerous play by Gargiulo on De Gregorio. Straight leg. Monza tries, raises his head, tries to sting, but Lecce holds: in the 78 ‘insidious left by Gytkjaer from a tight angle, but Gabriel deflects with his feet. Rodriguez signs the 2-0 after a double post from Coda, but Doveri also cancels this for offside. Lecce immediately redeems the defeat with the Citadel of the last round. Now Baroni is in the lead.

CITADEL-FROSINONE 3-0

Easy easy three of a kind. All in the first half. The Cittadella gets rid of Frosinone at home and hooks Grosso’s team to 41 points (the same as the Giallazzurri and Perugia). The protagonist of the match is Giacomo Beretta, who scored a brace, third and fourth league goals. First he takes advantage of a carom from Tounkara’s turn and puts it under Ravaglia’s legs (20 ‘), then takes advantage of a good assist from the former Lazio and drops the trio (43’). In the middle the 2-0 of Tounkara himself (25 ‘): the striker, two goals this season so far between the championship and the Italian Cup, punishes Ravaglia after having dribbled a defender with a feint. Second goal in four days after the one at Lecce in the last round, and second victory in a row for the Gorini boys. After the Apulians Frosinone also falls, eighth at 41 points.

REGGINA-PISA 1-0

Reggina flies with a flash of Menez. Another misstep for Pisa instead, only one victory in the last five games. Now D’Angelo’s boys are fifth at 46 points, at -3 from first place. At 6 ‘Folorunsho is immediately close to scoring from an excellent position, but Nicolas rejects with his feet. At 12 ‘, however, Menez directs the game on the right tracks: the Frenchman recovers the ball, jumps Nagy with a one-two of him and places it with his left. Fourth league goal and three points. In the second half Pisa raises its head, looking for an equal, but the only flicker is a post from Traore in the 58th minute. Fourth victory in the last 5 for Reggina. Pisa falls again.

ASCOLI-CROTONE 2-1

Comeback from the playoff area. Ascoli overturns Crotone to ninetieth and jumps to 42 points. Seventh place. Goals from Falasco and Maistro decide in the second half, after Ben Kone’s advantage. Crotone no longer knows how to win. The boys from Modesto throw another three points in the final minutes and go to -8 from the fourth-last Cosenza, at the moment in the playout area. The battle for salvation becomes complicated. The last rossoblù success dates back to 18 December against Pordenone (4-1), then there were four draws and four defeats. At Del Duca it ends 2-1. Crotone took the lead with Ben Kone, his first goal of the season (55 ‘). Arrived in January from Toro, the Ivorian dances on the ball and puts it in the corner from the edge after a dribble. Left unstoppable for Leali, who stretches out and can do nothing. In the end, however, Ascoli comeback: Falasco finds the same with a great left from outside (84 ‘), then Maistro gives the three points to Sottil with a bit of luck. The former Salernitana gets the penalty saved by Festa, but on the rebound he is the quickest of all and scores. Winning tap. Ascoli in the middle of the playoff area, Crotone increasingly at the peak.
