Large parts of the team of the Italian first division soccer team FC Venice are in corona quarantine.
In a series of tests, ten other professionals and supervisors tested positive, the club announced on Thursday, so a total of eight players and six people from the immediate team environment are infected.
The Serie A clubs had agreed on new corona rules in view of the increasing number of infections. Games are canceled if a club has eleven professionals who have tested positive in their squad. Young players are not taken into account.
After the turn of the year, US Salernitana, Hellas Verona and Udinese Calcio also had to deal with major outbreaks, and there were cancellations. Venice’s next game is scheduled for Saturday at Inter Milan.
