Serie A, disqualifications after the third day, Lazio racist chants

A supplementary investigation has been requested for the racist insults of the approximately one thousand Biancocelesti ultras at Maradona

Only one player disqualified by the Sports Judge after the third day of Serie A: a one-time stoppage for the AC Milan player Tomori, expelled with Roma, who will therefore miss the derby with Inter after the break. But it is above all Lazio now that it risks big, up to the disqualification of the Olimpico, because of its supporters.

racial slurs

The Judge writes that the approximately one thousand Lazio fans present in the away sector of the Maradona stadium in Naples on the occasion of the match on 2 September won 2-1 by Sarri & co – as reported by the collaborators of the FIGC prosecutor’s office in the report – repeatedly sang “choirs discriminators of racial and religious origin, as well as denigrating chants of territorial origin” against the opposing fans. So a further investigation is needed. The behavior of Lazio fans, not new to these accusations, now risk triggering the closure of the Olimpico, or part of it, on the occasion of Lazio’s next home games.

fines

Eight clubs were fined, including Salernitana and Lecce for 12 thousand euros and Lazio for 10 thousand. Other fines in Naples (8 thousand), Juventus (3 thousand), Rome (2 thousand), Bologna and Cagliari (1,500 euros).
