Rafael Leão was the player of the match. Against Inter Milan, he only equalized for AC Milan in the 28th minute. Then he did the preliminary work for Olivier Giroud’s goal (54th), before he scored a second time himself six minutes later.
Marcelo Brozović had previously given Inter the lead (21′). In the end it got exciting again after substitute Edin Dzeko shortened the lead for Inter (67′). But the equalizer never came.
AC Milan behind leaders SSC Napoli
Milan are now second in the Serie A table with 11 points from five games, while Inter have nine points, slipping to sixth. SSC Napoli, who won 2-1 against Lazio Roma, is the leader of the table for the time being.
However, Atalanta Bergamo (Monza at AC Monza) and AS Roma (Udinese Calcio on Sunday) both have chances to overtake this matchday.
