AS Roma is at least temporarily the new Serie A leader – thanks to double goal scorer Paulo Dybala.
Coach Jose Mourinho’s team came to an unchallenged 3-0 (2-0) against newly promoted AC Monza on Tuesday evening (08/30/2022) and with ten points is one point ahead of Inter Milan, who are also victorious. Defending champion AC is in third place.
Inter wins confidently
Inter easily defeated newly promoted US Cremonese 3-1 (2-0). For the “Nerazzurri” were successful against Cremonese Joaquin Correa (12th), Nicolo Barella (38th) and Lautaro Martinez (76th). The national player Robin Gosens, who is rumored to be courted by Bayer Leverkusen, came on late (79th).
Milan’s Maignan saves a point
AC Milan only managed a meager 0-0 draw at Sassuolo Calcio and were even lucky when goalkeeper Mike Maignan saved a penalty kick from international Domenico Berardi (23′).
Berardi had to be replaced in tears in the second half (52nd) with a suspected serious knee injury. As expected, newcomer Malick Thiaw from Bundesliga club Schalke 04 was not yet in the Milan squad.
Defending champions Milan have eight points after two home wins and two draws away from home. Stefano Pioli’s team has been unbeaten in 20 league games throughout the season.
