Serie A and Super Cup, January calendar: dates and times

The program for the 19th day has been modified. Day number 21 changes for the four on the field in Arabia

The start of the 2024 championship is already full of news: the program defined last September 6, the day on which the League announced advances and postponements from the fifth to the 19th matchday of Serie A, was revised yesterday. The first round of the new year changes: everyone on the pitch from 5 to 7 January. Inter and Milan will be served lunch, the Nerazzurri at San Siro against Verona on the day of the Epiphany, the Rossoneri in Empoli twenty-four hours later. Bologna and Genoa will open the day in the night preview on Friday 5th. Inter inaugurates the Epiphany followed by Frosinone-Monza, Lecce-Cagliari and Sassuolo-Fiorentina, distributed in the three slots of 3pm, 6pm and 8.45pm. On the 7th, after Empoli-Milan, there will be Turin-Naples and Udinese-Lazio (starting at 3pm), Salernitana-Juve (6pm) and Roma-Atalanta (8.45pm).

It changes

Originally six matches had been placed in two days (6-7 January) with Empoli-Milan on the 6th at 6pm between Lecce-Cagliari and Bologna-Genoa. And on Sunday in the company of Frosinone-Monza, Roma-Atalanta and Salernitana-Juventus. Four other matches had been postponed to 23-24 January: Inter-Verona, Sassuolo-Fiorentina, Turin-Napoli and Udinese-Lazio. These were the matches involving the four teams involved in the Final-four of the Italian Super Cup (Napoli, Inter, Fiorentina and Lazio) originally scheduled between 4 and 8 January. The calendar is based on the timing of the Super Cup, postponed by a couple of weeks: semi-finals on January 21st and 22nd, final on the 25th. On the day of the Epiphany, the championship returns to be the protagonist for everyone. For the four on the pitch in Arabia, matchday number 21, scheduled for the weekend of 20-21 January, will change: Napoli and Fiorentina, against Sassuolo and Bologna, should be brought forward to Wednesday 17 January, one match at 6.30pm, the other at 8.45pm ; Inter and Lazio (adversaries Atalanta and Torino) will be on the pitch on Thursday 18th, to be shared at the same times. The 22nd of Serie A, a week later, should see the usual four postponed to Monday (the two who will return from Arabia first) and Tuesday (the two finalists): times yet to be made official
