Sergio Ramos angry at ‘scandalous’ arbitration after match against PSV

World-famous Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos is not satisfied, to say the least, after the Champions League match against PSV in Eindhoven on Tuesday evening. Ramos complains in particular about the level of arbitration.

Ramos calls the draw bittersweet. “A point in an away game is valuable, but we lost two points due to small details,” the defender said on X.

“And just as a side note: what are tools for if you don’t use them?” Ramos continues. He is referring to the disallowed goal of Sevilla player Adrià Pedrosa due to handball. PSV then received a penalty – after a foul by Ramos himself.

After the match, Ramos also shared his frustration in the Spanish press. “This is a shame,” Ramos said in the Spanish newspaper AS. “It was as if PSV had to score that equalizer. At all costs.”

The 2-2 draw was charged and hard-fought. The Eindhoven team recorded no fewer than 26 goal attempts in the entertaining second group match in the Champions League, but that turned out not to be enough for the win.

After the hopeless 4-0 defeat at Arsenal two weeks ago, it was again a fairly hard lesson. “The boys were quiet afterwards, they were not happy with the final score,” said coach Peter Bosz.

“We played against a very experienced and crafty team. We played good football in large parts of the match and were the superior team. Once again, the return was not really high,” concluded the 59-year-old coach of the Eindhoven team.
