Traktor Chelyabinsk captain Sergei Kalinin told the Russian Championatin in the interview, what the Finnish striker of the team Teemu Pulkkinen told about his thoughts to return to Russia.
Pulkkinen returned to Traktor’s ranks for this season, even though Russia expanded the war of aggression in Ukraine at the end of February. Civilians such as children, women and the elderly have been killed in Russian bombings. The war is still going on in Ukraine.
– He immediately said that he would come back. There was no question about it, everyone wants to make money. He gets good money. He had no question about his return, Kalinin claimed.
Tractor GM Ivan Savin said earlier in August at a press conference that Pulkkinen had set one condition for his return.
– The only thing was the desire to reduce his presence in the media to a minimum. Otherwise, there were no requirements for return. He is a professional, credit must be given to him and his agent. It’s up to him to show what he can do, Savin said at the time.
Kalin was also asked Raimo from Summawho served as the player’s head coach in Avangard Omsk.
– He is one of the strongest coaches I have worked with. He had his own vision for life and hockey.
Kalinin also told one example of Summanen’s coaching.
– The team was a little loose in the first period and the coaching team brought an exercise bike into the locker room. No one understood what was going on until Raimo started pedaling at top speed in the suit for 30 seconds. Then he said this is how hard we have to work to win.
Pulkkinen is playing his second season in Traktor’s shirt. He is about to start his fifth career season in the KHL.
