SERBIA WILL GO TO THE PARQUET UNDER GUIDETTI MANAGEMENT

Italian Giovanni Guidetti was the head coach of Turkey, which hosted the European Championship in 2019.

Serbia, coached by Zoran Terzic, won the championship cup by beating Turkey 3-2 under Guidetti in the final match in Ankara.

Serbia will take the floor under Guidetti in the final to be played in Brussels.

The Sultans of the Net, on the other hand, will try to reach the gold medal with Italian Daniele Santarelli, who made Serbia the world champion before.

Guidetti continues to run VakıfBank, one of the Sultans League teams, in his club career.

SANTARELLI CAN MAKE ‘2 IN 2’

Italian head coach Daniele Santarelli, who was announced on December 27, 2022, that he was the head of the A National Women’s Volleyball Team, made his debut with the South Korea match played in the first week of the FIVB Nations League held in Antalya.

The national team, which won 9 out of 12 matches in the first three weeks of the league under the management of Santarelli, qualified for the finals from the third place.

“Sultans of the Net”, which beat the last champion Italy in the quarter-finals of the Nations League and the host USA with 3 gold medals in the semi-finals, completed the first organization they participated with Santarelli with a gold medal.

The Italian head coach, who won the gold medal in the FIVB Nations League for the first time in his head coaching career, will try to add to his career his first gold success in the European Championship with Turkey.

Santarelli won two silver medals in the European League with Croatia, bronze in the FIVB Women’s Nations League with Serbia and gold in the 2022 FIVB Women’s World Championship.

ONE MISSING GOLD

A National Women’s Volleyball Team managed to reach the finals for the third time in the European Championship.

“Sultans of the Net”, who fought in the finals in 2003 and 2019 in their history, could not win these two matches and took the second step of the podium.

Having won 3 bronze medals as well as 2 silvers in European championships, Turkey is only one win away from taking gold in the organization in Belgium, where it participated as the “1” number after the Nations League championship.
