Lthe official announcement comes fromInps: you can finally submit your application to obtain the separated parents bonus, the subsidy intended precisely for separated, divorced and/or non-cohabiting parents. The deadline to request it is March 31st. However, there is no need to rush as, unlike what is provided for other bonuses, the chronological order of submission of applications will not be followed.

Separated parents bonus, the requirements

The measure, born in 2022 and subsequently subject to changes that made it what it is today, he assures a contribution to parents in financial difficultysetting a ceiling on the annual income of applicants which must not exceed 8,174 euros. Furthermore, during the Covid emergency period they must be found to be living with minor or adult children who are seriously disabled and who, in the same period, have not received maintenance due to non-compliance of the other parent (ex-spouse or ex-cohabitant).

Who is it for?

The bonus is due where the other parent, as a result of the epidemiological emergency, has ceased, reduced or suspended work activity as of 8 March 2020 for a minimum duration of 90 days or has suffered a reduction in income of at least 30% compared to the income received in 2019.

Who can apply

There request to receive the benefit must be presented to INPSafter authentication on the Institute portal, through the specific service “Contribution for separated or divorced parents to guarantee the continuity of the provision of maintenance allowance”, available in the “Access point to non-pension benefits”.

How the separated parents bonus is paid

The bonus for separated, divorced and/or non-cohabiting parents is paid in a single payment in an amount equal to the unpaid amount of the maintenance allowance and up to a maximum of 800 euros per month. The contribution is due for a maximum of 12 months taking into account the availability of the fund which amounts to 10 million euros. The benefit will be provided by INPS following verification of the legal requirements by the Department for Family Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which will carry them out according to the defined criteria.
