Sep Vanmarcke weeks out due to broken wrist

Vanmarcke’s injury is reported by his team on social media: “Sep fell yesterday in a gravel race and suffered a fracture to the left wrist. Sep has now undergone successful surgery to stabilize the fracture, and he is now starting his rehabilitation His return to competition is expected in mid-June.”

The 34-year-old Vanmarcke had a good spring and last spring finished third in Gent-Wevelgem, sixth in Nokere Koerse and tenth in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Due to his crash, he did not reach the finish during the first edition of the Gravel Fondo Limburg on Sunday.
