Triple Jumper Senni Salminen the highlight of the Sweden match is only on Sunday, when he competes in his minor sport in the long jump.
– I’m most looking forward to tomorrow’s length. I want to know how it goes, Salminen said after Saturday’s triple jump.
The level of results in Saturday’s jumping competition did not reach a shocking level. Salminen won the Sweden match with a jump of 13.98 meters. EC silver medalist and SE result holder Kristiina Mäkelä came second with a result of 13.72.
– Running has been good for a long time. Loik was still quite excited about the same. I saved a little for tomorrow, Salminen described.
The long jump has not often been in his sports program, as the last time he competed in it was in last year’s Sweden match in Stockholm. The ranking was then fourth with a jump of 6.18 meters. Training has also remained just as little.
Salmi’s best result is from the summer of 2020. Then in Turku, he scored 6.56, which is the third hardest result among tomorrow’s opponents.
Salminen said he would look at the stress situation again in the morning. He has been ill for a week and a half.
– There were only five jumps (today), so you can’t feel it anywhere, Salminen laughed.
Competing in a long race once a year suits the athlete himself.
