There can be no war between Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, told RBC. This is how he reacted to the words Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the “Opposition Platform – For Life” Ilya Kiva that a possible Russian attack on Ukraine would be “liberation”.

“I have great respect for Deputy Kiva for his fearlessness to fight the regime. But a war between our countries is out of the question,” Dzhabarov stressed. The senator pointed out that both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about this.

“Ukrainians themselves must bring people to power, those who will think about the people of Ukraine, about restoring relations with fraternal Russia, therefore, I think this is an internal affair of Ukraine, they must decide for themselves,” he added.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that Russia has not made a decision on aggression

Russia does not intend to attack Ukraine, said Sergei Tsekov, Senator from the Republic of Crimea, member of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs. “They should understand this very well. We will just patiently wait for the leadership to come to power in Ukraine, which understands that Ukraine, in history, in truth, in fairness, should be together with Russia, be friends with Russia,” the senator said.
