Bruno Astorre Senator of the Democratic Party died while in the Senate offices in Palazzo Cenci in Romeon Friday 3 March. The door to the building is now closed. According to reports from theHandle, the general secretary of Palazzo Madama and the director of the State Police in charge of investigating the incident entered the door. Senator of Democratic party, re-elected on 25 September 2022, Bruno Astorre would have turned 60 on 11 March. He was born in 1963 in Rome, he was elected to the Senate for the first time in 2013. He was regional secretary of the Democratic Party, in office since 2018. In 2021 he married Francesca Sbardella, party comrade and currently mayor of Frascatia municipality on the outskirts of Rome, elected in 2021. A graduate in economics and commerce from LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, he works in Capitalia but politics has always been part of his life.

The carreer

He served in the Christian Democracy and in the People’s Party with which he was elected city councilor in Colonna, a municipality near Rome, in 1995 and then to the Provincial Council in 1998. In 2003 he was regional councilor with La Margherita, re-elected in 2005 becoming councilor for Public Works and the Casa della Giunta Marrazzo. In 2010 he was the first to be elected in the Lazio regional elections for the Democratic Party. In 2013 he began his adventure in the Senate where he also returned in the 2022 elections where he was the leader in the Lazio 02 plurinominal constituency which includes the whole region except the Metropolitan City of Rome and the municipalities of Fiumicino and Ciampino.
