Although many musicians are already experimenting with artificial intelligence (AI), Selena Gomez is very skeptical about its use.
The singer and actress only recently became aware of an Instagram post in which an AI covered the song “Starboy” with her artificially added voice. Selena Gomez finds this fake use “creepy” and admits at Universal Music Group’s “Thrive Global’s Music & Health” conference talk: “Honestly, this whole AI topic scares me.”
In her opinion, the music industry is about stories and messages that an AI cannot create in the same way a human can.
The 31-year-old is currently promoting her track “Single Soon,” although a new album has not yet been announced.
