Large-scale operation by the police and fire brigade on Sunday evening around 7 p.m. at Mehringplatz in Berlin-Kreuzberg!
Because of family disputes, police officers were called to an apartment on Mehringplatz. A man initially threw glass bottles out of a window and, according to initial reports, barricaded himself in a room. He threatened to be heavily armed and spoke of a “dangerous object”. The police then called the SEK.
A heavily armed special task force stormed the apartment and the man was arrested. According to the police, it will be checked whether he will be presented to a doctor – with the question of whether psychiatric treatment is necessary. According to BZ information, the weapon turned out to be a stun gun and the object in question was a dummy that looked like a grenade.
The man was taken to a detention center. Several ads await him now.
Everything took place directly opposite the SPD party headquarters.
