ABBA fans only have to wait a few more days until the virtual “Voyage” show starts in London on May 26th. With regard to the start of the concert event, the pop band had repeatedly published small sneak peaks on their social media. On Monday (May 16), the four posted a series of photos showing their “abbatars” in action.
To see ABBA “like never before”
ABBA only shared a photo on Facebook. To see all of the “exclusive new pictures,” fans will need to head over to Instagram. There “Frida and the rest of ABBA like never before” are depicted. The Facebook image shows a young version of ABBA singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad at the microphone. She is wearing a pink jacket with glittering applications reminiscent of the pattern of peacock feathers.
At the “Voyage” concerts, the real ABBA members will not be on stage, but their digital copies. Together with a live band, they will perform the Swedes’ greatest hits for 100 minutes.
“Did someone say sneak peak?”
Captioned with the line, “Did someone say sneak peak?” The Instagram post features three other photos. It features the “Abbatares” by Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. They, too, can be seen in outfits embroidered with sparkling sequins. Costume designer B. Åkerlund recently announced that the looks of the digital band members should be spectacular, and she spared no effort or expense for the design. Among other things, she has worked with the Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, as well as with other international designers.

Recently there have been rumors that tickets for the “Voyage” shows are not selling as well as expected. Therefore, price reductions should already be considered. Meanwhile, the pop band announced that they would like to appear in full at the premiere on May 26th.
ROLLING STONE is giving away two tickets for one of the virtual ABBA concerts in London until May 18th. If you don’t want to travel to hear the pop band, you can bring their music right into your living room with a box set that will be released soon.
ABBA also recently released a new lyric video for their 1974 Eurovision Song Contest hit, “Waterloo.”
