See: kidnappers of Beverwijk businessman ‘with machine gun’ captured on camera

Tonight the police showed images of the kidnappers of a 42-year-old man from Beverwijk in the TV program Opsporing Verzocht. The victim was taken hostage in Egmond aan Zee in the evening and night of Saturday November 11 to Sunday November 12. Once in Delft he managed to escape his kidnappers. The above images of a parking lot in Delft clearly capture the suspects. Most likely, a bag one of them is holding contains an automatic weapon.

The 42-year-old Beverwijk businessman has a business appointment with a woman at a house on Julianastraat in Egmond aan Zee on Saturday around 6:30 p.m. Upon entering, the man is immediately detained and threatened by three men. “The man was kicked several times in the body, but was not seriously injured,” police said. However, he is very shocked.

‘Machine gun’

He has to hand over all personal items, including his watch, telephones, wallet and cash – under threat of possibly a machine gun. He has to lie on the ground and has a bag put over his head. His arms and legs are tied.

That night, the man is hurriedly transported in his own car (a white Mercedes EQS 450) to a location in Delft. In the middle of the night he manages to break free from his kidnappers in the Poptahof district in Delft. Around 2 a.m. he calls the police.

Police are in the dark

“His car was found a little later in a parking lot at Zwembadpad and Kerkpolderweg in Delft,” the police continue. There are cameras in that parking lot, the images of which have now been published by the police in Opsporing Verzocht. Tomorrow, this kidnapping case – with descriptions – will also be the focus of the TV program Bureau NH.

In the images above, the automatic weapon with which the victim was previously threatened is most likely stored in a blue plastic bag.

“The police are investigating the case and would like to get in touch with witnesses or people with information,” the police said. “We are still really in the dark,” says Felicity Bijnaar of the police in the video below.

Text continues after this conversation.

“We urgently appeal to people who know something about the background of this kidnapping. It could very well be that the perpetrators were after the man’s money,” says Bijnaar. For example, the businessman would have to transfer 500 thousand euros to the hostages. “But why he was brought to Delft, for example, is really a mystery to us.”
