Mehmetçik will also contribute to the security of the FIFA 2022 World Cup, which is among the most prestigious sports organizations in the world.

Turkish Armed Forces elements, which include chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defense, Explosive Material Reconnaissance and Disposal (PMKI), bomb search and anti-drone teams, as well as MİLGEM TCG Burgazada, which are produced with domestic and national resources, are in Qatar on 20 November. He will serve in the FIFA 2022 World Cup to be held on 18 December 2022.

Preparations for ensuring safety in the World Cup, which is among the most watched sports organizations in the world and where more than 1 million people will be in Qatar, started a while ago.

The Qatari government demanded that friendly and allied countries contribute to the security of the organization with elements belonging to the armed forces. Following the positive responses from countries including Turkey, the meetings were hosted by Qatar.

As a result of these, the Joint Joint Task Force was formed with the participation of the USA, England, Italy, France and Pakistan as well as Turkey to contribute to the Qatar Armed Forces.

After the approval of the resolution sent to the Parliament with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the General Assembly, TCG Burgazada, which was produced with local and national facilities, was commissioned for the Qatar FIFA 2022 World Cup Shield Operation and started its course from Izmir on October 10.

Arriving in Qatar with its personnel on October 31, TCG Burgazada was greeted with a ceremony by the Qatar Navy at Um el-Havl Naval Base.

In addition to these, within the scope of the operation, the CBRN defense division, PMKI, bomb search and anti-drone team went to Doha, the capital of Qatar, and started their work at the end of last month.

The Combined Joint Task Force, which was implemented in order to ensure the security of the organization, will be directed and administered from the coordination center created.
