They were after coins, but didn’t reckon with the security staff at the Mercedes-Benz Arena…
According to previous investigations, two men (19 and 22) smashed a door on the third floor of the hall at around 8:15 p.m. and stole money from a snack bar. After that they fled.
But: Two employees of the security service noticed the theft and took up the chase. At the same time they called the police. The security finally managed to catch the two thieves and handed them over to the officers.
In addition to the money stolen from the snack bar, the emergency services found various collector’s coins on the 19-year-old. These can probably be attributed to a burglary in a basement in a residential building on Warschauer Strasse.
The police took the suspects into police custody and handed them over to the criminal police.
